Your very lives represent what God has done for you by the way of grace, growth and His guidance. I am thankful for my knowledge and keen awareness of senior citizens. For 27 years God has used me as an instrument of development to lift the spirits of our senior citizens.
My grandmother, the late Rosie Lee McGill was born blind. Even through her terminal illness, she taught me courage, caring, and compassion or those who are less fortunate.
Upon inception at Temple, my spirit connected with the soul cry of senior citizens concerning their acceptance and appreciation and attention. I have a mutual and personal concern that reaches home in regards to my feeling about senior citizens.
My focus for this ministry is described and detailed in three words: Respect, Recognition and Reward. Our senior citizens deserve and they have earned respect. They must be recognized and rewarded for the many battles they have come through. They are to be rewarded for their testimony - "I've never seen a storm that didn't pass over."
With this ministry, it is my intent to see about our senior citizens meals, medication, and maintenance. The Lord has ordained this ministry. It cannot and will not fail.
To Sister Betty Brooks, be encouraged and remember: "With God all things are possible to he that believe." No matter who criticizes, complains, or causes conflict - God is on our side. Keep up the good work.
Thank you Renee Banks for your years of untiring and unwavering service during your tenure. Now the torch is passed to Sis. Betty Brooks to continue on in the name of the Lord..
My motto for this ministry is: "It's Just Nice to be Nice!"
May God bless and keep all of the senior citizens of the Great Big Family and this world. Keep the faith and focus on the future.
Humbly submitted,
Dr, Sedric D. Veal Sr., pastor Dr. Sedric D. |
